NASHUA, NH — Organizations have until Sept. 30 to submit a Request for Information (RFI) to the City of Nashua regarding plans for the facilities at the Elm Street Middle School site, according to the city.

With the city constructing a new middle school on Buck Meadow Rd., Elm Street Middle School, located at 117 Elm St., just one block from the Downtown Main Street corridor, will be turned back to the city in the spring/summer of 2024.

The city currently is conducting a feasibility study to engage with the community in order to better understand the future of the building and the 9-acre site.

The RFI, according to the city, will help to identify one or more strategic partners interested in operating all or part of the Elm Street Middle School building as it is currently constituted.

"Respondents may propose or reuse concepts for the auditorium, gymnasium and former classroom spaces," the city said.

The city made clear the RFI is not a Request for Proposals, but will help to develop a vendor list should a Request for Proposals be issued.

"The intention of this RFI is to be non-binding, but provide a platform for potential suitors to outline what if any weaknesses or obstacles there may be," the city said. "This RFI could be looked at as an expression of interest or intention where a potential strategic partner would outline what their requirements may be in order for them to consider moving forward."

Organizations interested in responding to the RFI can do so on the city's website.
