Nashua Skydiving Event Raises Over $15K To Help Homeless Youth
Saturday's Skydive United fundraiser was sponsored by United Way of Greater Nashua and featured eight jumpers at Skydive Pepperell.

PEPPERELL, MA —The United Way of Greater Nashua raised a little over $15,000 on Saturday at its third annual Skydive United skydiving fundraiser, according to the organization.
Held at Skydive Pepperell, this year's event featured eight skydivers, only one of whom had skydived before.
The event raised money for the United Way of Greater Nashua Ending Youth Homeless Fund, which helps to support the more than 400 young people in the local community who are experiencing homelessness today.

The fund, according to the organization, helps with placement in host homes or transitional housing, work uniforms, driver's licenses and "many other needs that arise and are needed to give kids a hand up in life."
In 2021, the event attracted 11 skydivers, one of whom actually was a formerly homeless youth who was a member of the organization's Youth Success Project, according to the United Way.

The United Way said the 2021 Skydive United event raised $33,000 for the cause, after raising $23,000 in 2020.
"Skydive United is a unique way for our community to come together to help end youth homelessness," said Mike Apfelberg, president of United Way of Greater Nashua. "The funds raised go into United Way's Ending Youth Homelessness Fund, which is flexible and helps provide both direct as well as organizational support. We are very proud of the good work done by this fund as well as the courage of our great skydivers."
