Neighbor Aids in Arrest of Man Rummaging Through Cars

Police are looking for other residents who may be missing items from their vehicles.

Hudson Police have arrested David Farwell, 39, of Methuen, Mass., charged with theft after he was allegedly spotted rummaging through vehicles on Rangers Drive in Hudson. 

According to a police narrative of the events leading to Farwell's arrest, on September 5 at approximately 1 a.m. a resident of Rangers Drive contacted Hudson Police Department regarding a suspicious person.  The caller indicated that he observed a man dressed in black clothing rummaging through a vehicle in the area.  The resident approached the man and informed him that he had notified the police. The man then fled the area in a silver Honda Civic.   The vehicle was stopped by Hudson Police on Central Street and the driver was identified as Farwell.

After further investigation, probable cause was developed by believe who believe Farwell was connected to the offense.  Farwell was taken into custody and was charged with theft by unauthorized taking (misdemeanor).  Farwell was booked, processed and released on $750 personal recognizance. He is scheduled to be arraigned in the 9th Circuit Court in Nashua, New Hampshire on September 19, 2013.

The Hudson Police Department is encouraging citizens in the Rangers Drive area to contact the Hudson Police Department at (603) 886-6011 if they discover articles, electronic devices or money missing from their vehicles.
