Nashua Police: Couple Sold Heroin Near Child

Nashua police said Zachary Madison and Brittney Bellino sold heroin with a child nearby then were arrested in "Operation Granite Shield."

NASHUA, NH — A New Hampshire couple were arrested after selling heroin near a child, Nashua police said Friday. Zachary Madison, 26, with no fixed address, and Brittney Bellino, 25, of Milford, face charges of selling heroin and endangering the welfare of a child. The pair were arrested during the latest Nashua police "Operation Granite Shield" drug sweep. A third suspect arrested in the sweep, Jennifer Dion, 35, of Nashua, was charged with crack cocaine possession and falsifying evidence.

All suspects were arrested Thursday, according to Nashua police Lieutenant Brian Kenney. The Granite Shield program is a state-funded initiative conducted in cities like Nashua, Manchester, Portsmouth and Salem, among others.

The sweep resulted in "individuals ... arrested for various drug crimes, and various crimes frequently associated with criminal behavior related to drug activity," Kenney said in a statement.

Madison and Bellino were held on $30,000 bail; Dion was held on $10,000 bail.

It was the fourth Granite Shield sweep conducted so far this year in Nashua. A total of fourteen suspects have been arrested.
