Two New Hampshire students chosen for US Senate Youth Program (unionleader.com) — A Nashua High School South senior has been chosen as one of two New Hampshire delegates to the prestigious U.S. Senate Youth Program, earning a $10,000 scholarship and a week in Washington, D.C. Another Nashua student from Bishop Guertin was named an alternate, highlighting strong civic and academic leadership coming out of local high schools.
   

2. Goodlander delivers major victory for New Hampshire firefighters in House-passed National Defense Authorization Act (newenglandnewspress.com) — A Nashua Fire Rescue lieutenant’s service is helping drive a major federal change: the U.S. House has passed the Honoring Our Fallen Heroes Act, which would recognize job-related cancer deaths for firefighter survivor benefits. Congresswoman Maggie Goodlander and New Hampshire’s delegation are pushing to make it law, potentially improving protections for firefighters’ families statewide, including in Nashua.
   

3. N.H. writer looks back on her 'incredible luck' as a Cuban refugee in U.S. (wbur.org) — A Cuban refugee family’s journey 60 years ago ended in Nashua, where writer Ana Hebra Flaster grew up after arriving on the Freedom Flights. In a new book, she reflects on leaving everything behind in Cuba and starting over in a New Hampshire mill town, offering Nashua readers a deeply local lens on global history and immigration.
   

4. Amherst Fraudster, Former Nashua Brewery Owner Sent To Prison In Loan Conspiracy Scam, Theft: Follow-Up (patch.com) — A former owner of a brewery that once operated in Nashua and Hooksett has been sentenced to consecutive prison terms for securities fraud, conspiracy, and theft tied to a nearly $1 million loan scheme. State prosecutors say he must also pay restitution after release, and residents can report suspected consumer fraud to the New Hampshire Consumer Protection Hotline or website.
