POP Unit Snags 7 for Illegal Lottery Ticket Sales
Police say arrests were due to illegal lottery tickets being sold at various convenience stores in Nashua.
On September 4 and 5, 2013 members of the Nashua Police Department Problem Oriented Policing Unit (POP Unit) arrested seven Nashua residents for unlawfully conducting a lottery in the City of Nashua. The following six individuals were arrested based on arrest warrants prepared by the POP Unit on September 4.
Frederick Bianney Luciano Tavarez, age 34, of 46 West Hollis Street, Nashua, NH (1 count)
Ricky Tejeda, age 31,of 10 Pleasant Street, Nashua, NH (3 counts)

Sally Rodriguez, age 27, 10 Pleasant Street, Nashua, NH (2 counts)
Andy Cora, age 36, of 104 Ash Street, Nashua, NH (1 count)

Juan Gutierrez Ortiz, age 27, of 7 ½ Amory Street, Nashua, NH (2 counts)
Abigail Julio Genao, age 48, 12 Broad Street, Nashua, NH (1 count)
On September 5, 2013 members of the POP Unit also arrested Jose Tejeda (3 counts), age 30, of 104 ½ Ash Street, Nashua, NH for the same offense in furtherance of this ongoing investigation.
The arrests stem from an investigation into the operation of illegal lottery tickets being sold at various convenience stores in the City of Nashua. The aforementioned lottery is not regulated by the NH Lottery Commission making the sale of these tickets a violation of NH RSA 647:1, Lotteries, class A Misdemeanor. All seven individuals were released on personal recognizance pending their arraignment at the 9th Circuit Nashua District Division Court at a future date.
A class A Misdemeanor is punishable by up to a year in jail, exclusive of fines.
