- The Street Department will resume the replacement of the sewer main on Beacon Street beginning April 15, 2013. The sewer pipe needs to be replaced from Beacon Court to Amherst Street. Approximately 80-feet of the worst section of the pipe has been replaced. Work has been put on winter shut down since the sewer main is now operating satisfactorily. Replacement of the water main by Pennichuck Water Works will also occur this spring.
- Road work on Spit Brook Road just west of Route 3 is ongoing. Work is expected to take place during the hours of 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Some lanes will be closed during this work, but there will be enough lanes open for traffic to move through in each direction. Expect delays.
- Construction work on Pleasant Street has begun. The contractor, Albanese D&S, will begin installing temporary water to all residents. The sewer main will be replaced next, followed by water. Work will occur over the entire length of Pleasant Street (from Elm St to Walnut St). The City is managing the sewer replacement work and Pennichuck Water Works is handling the water replacement. Following the installation of the new water and sewer lines, the entire road will be paved. The road will be closed to traffic during the construction except for local will be allowed to enter. When work is occuring directly in front of a residence's house, we ask that if a resident needs to leave to do so before the digging starts. As a courtesy, the Contractor will attempt to inform any resident with a car in the driveway that they should move their car if they need to leave while the work is occurring.
