Date Set for Rolfe Arraignment

Duane Rolfe is accused of murdering his sister in January.

Three months after police arrested Duane Rolfe, 65, for the 66, he will stand to formally answer the charges against.

An arriagnment is scheduled for April 29 in Hillsborough County Superior Court.

On April 16 a Grand Jury indicted Duane Rolfe on two counts of murder – in the first degree for purposely causing the death of his sister through striking her repeatedly with a blunt object; and second degree for his "extreme indifference" to human life by striking her repeatedly with a blunt object.

The process was delayed after Rolfe's public defender Jacki Smith asked that the mental competency of her client be evaluated.

Rolfe is accused of murdering his sister Jan. 19 in their Nashua home. Little information has been released, including the alleged murder weapon or motive.

The brother and sister lived an isolated life outside of running the family business, McDonald's Kitchenware, a housewares store on Factory Street. They shared a home at 8 Belmont Street where, in the early hours of Jan. 19, police arrived to find Judith Rolfe dead. Duane Rolfe was arrested several hours later.
