A car and a truck collided on the turnpike in the northbound lane on Tuesday. Two people were injured in the crash between Exits 7 and 8.
NASHUA, NH — The F.E. Everett Turnpike was shut down Tuesday morning due to an accident with serious injuries, which required Boston MedFlight to land on the highway.
The accident occurred in the northbound lane between Exit 7 on-ramp and Exit 8 off-ramp just before 11:30 a.m. Nashua Fire Rescue, AMR, and New Hampshire State Police responded and located a passenger car under the back of a box truck. Two occupants of the car were heavily entrapped.
Firefighters requested additional apparatus and ambulances to the scene and began extrication. The roof of the car was removed, and firefighters then used hydraulic tools to remove doors and raise the dashboard to extricate the victims.
