NASHUA, NH — One hundred and ten Rivier University students were relocated to local hotels Friday after being forced to evacuate a dorm due to a water leak, the university said.

A school spokesperson said the leak occurred at approximately 10 a.m. at Brassard Hall and resulted from a broken pipe. The water leaked through the attic and penetrated the second and first floors of the three-floor building, the spokesperson said.

According to the university, the students eventually were allowed back into the building to retrieve their personal items before being relocated.

"Our primary concern is always keeping the building safe, maintaining safety for our students. We'll fix it. We'll fix it right," Sister Paula Marie Buley, president of Rivier University, told WMUR. "In the interim, they'll be accommodated to make sure they have everything they need to continue their classes."
