Sidewalk Project Update: Water to be Shut Off Monday Night

Street light going up on the West Side of Main Street this week.

During the week of September 3 sidewalks were poured in front of 100 Main St., brick work continued and sidewalks were prepared, which included running conduit from the Library Walk to Triangle Credit Union. Crews repaired a drainage line that went into a granite culvert and completed the wiring for all the street lights on the West side.

This week:  Crews plan to pour four concrete pads, the brick work will continue, conduit will be run, and curb work will be installed for the bump outs for the street lights. A granite planter and two tree wells will be installed. The street lights on the West side of Main Street will be put up mid-week. Crews have been working with Pennichuck Corp. to relocate the fire hydrant which will make room for a tree well, and will relocate the fire hydrant on Monday night, September 9, after 10 p.m. This will require the water to be temporarily shut off at some Main Street locations during the overnight hours. Pennichuck will be notifying all those impacted by the shut off.

As always, the city will do its best to limit the obstruction of parking and impacts to business. Unfortunately, it is necessary to take parking spaces where we are working. Our schedule is tentative and subject to change due to weather or unforeseen circumstances. Please do not hesitate to contact Director Lisa Fauteux or Andy Patrician, Operations Manager, on site or at 589-3140 with any concerns.
