Sidewalk Project Weekly Update
As promised, the Mayor's office is posting weekly updates on progress, which we're reposting here.

Main Street Sidewalk Project
If you are looking for information on what's happening downtown, you should check out the city's Main Street Sidewalk Project Update link, which you can find on the city's home page.
In addition to a weekly update, which is planned for Fridays, there are links to block-by-block schematics of the work and cost analyses. We've uploaded the information for Block 1 here, but you can take all the time you need to go over the project block by block. Check it out for yourself.

During the week of April 15, after some issues with catch basins, we successfully pulled the old curb on the west side of Block 2, installed new curb and replaced three catch basins. Next week we anticipate installing 5 light pole foundations and completi ng underground electrical work. We will begin to set forms and pour concrete for the sidewalk beginning at Water Street and working south. Raised planting beds will be installed in front of Espresso Pizza and Cooking Matters. Green astro turf will be placed on the sidewalk to indicate to pedestrians where they should walk while the work is underway. This is a tentative schedule and subject to changes due to weather or unforeseen circumstances. We are committed to doing our best to minimize inconveniences to both residents and merchants. Please do not hesitate to contact Superintendant of Streets Roy Sorenson on site or the Operations Manager Andy Patrician at 603-589-3140 with any questions or concerns. As always, thank yo u for your patience and cooperation as we work to improve Nashua’s downtown!
