Six Alarm Fire In Nashua Injures Three, Fire Consumes Multiple Buildings

Nashua fighters arrived to heavy fire that was quickly spreading from the rear of an Ash Street building, spreading to Vine Street.

NASHUA, NH — Nashua Fire Rescue, police, and AMR ambulance responded to multiple calls of a structure in the area of Vine, Lovewell, and Ash streets on Tuesday, just before 6:30 a.m.

Upon arrival, firefighters reported heavy smoke coming from the rear of an Ash Street multi-unit building. A second and third alarm were immediately requested and eventually increased to six alarms, bringing multiple cities and towns for the mutual aid response.

Firefighters searched the original apartment building and evacuated its occupants. Three people from the building were transported to Southern New Hampshire Medical Center with what appeared to be non-life-threatening injuries.

Fire jumped from the original fire building to a large warehouse-type building in the rear on Vine Street. Manchester firefighters set up a ladder truck and worked to knock down that fire after about one hour.

At this time, there are no reported injuries to firefighters, and the fire is under control.

Initial reports are that more than one dozen people were displaced from the apartment building, which is most likely a total loss.
