Chronic Shoplifter Strikes Again, Faces Felony

Marion Smith has been arrested at least a half-dozen times in the past two years.

Marion Smith, 37, of 7 Martin Street, Nashua, was arrested May 31 at the Hillsborough County Department of Corrections at approximately 12:18 p.m. Smith was being held at the Valley Street jail on an unrelated offense at the time of her arrest.

A warrant was issued for Smith. The investigation was furthered by detectives and a records check revealed that Smith has two prior theft related convictions, which upgraded the offense to a class B felony.

A class B felony is punishable by up to seven years in the New Hampshire State Prison, exclusive of fines. Smith was released from the Nashua Police Department on $ 1,000 cash or surety bail pending her arraignment at the 9th Circuit-District Division-Nashua Court on June 19, 2013.
