Some Important Meetings Coming Up

It's hard to keep up sometimes, there's so much happening in our city.

While it's true that having meetings in the evenings when people can attend makes sense, it's important to point out that there are only so many 7 p.m. meeting slots that exist in a given week.

That said, take your pick Thursday, where most of the action is concentrated.

For example, at 2 p.m. Public Works will meet – the 146-page agenda packet is uploaded here for you eager readers and detail-oriented folks. Highlights include:

  • Update on Broad Street Parkway project
  • Request for 15 percent wastewater use fee hike
  • Request approval of $1.6 million sewer replacement contract to Park Construction
  • Lots of contract awards for various projects
  • Proposed FY2014 Public Works Budget

At 7 p.m. you can catch:

  • The Human Affairs Committee public hearing on annual CDBG Block Grants, in the Aldermanic Chambers or
  • Attend the Skateboard Park Relocation Board in Room 208 or
  • Attend the Planning Board where a public hearing for Phase One of the Bridge Street Waterfront Revitalization Plan, 70 Bridge St., will be unveiled and open for discussion. [Reason why the skateboard park is being relocated, by the way.] Plan includes 228 residential units, a 50 seat restaurant, and a community center. Click here for a link to the current plans. Also, BDK Venture Partners, LLC (Owner) - Application and acceptance of proposed amendment to demolish the existing gas station at 267 Main St., and to construct a 3,108 sf building for restaurant and retail use with associated site improvements. This property is one of our former so we are interested in hearing more about this one! How about you? Agenda is uploaded with this story, as well.
