State Rep Doubts LCB Decision on Missing Booze
On the 'Art of Politics' Hudson State Rep. Lynne Ober talks about he case of the $100,000 missing wine, abortion and the marathon 'black ops' comment.

Another exciting installment of "The Art of Politics," with co-hosts Democrat Ken Gidge and Republican Bill O'Brien, is in the can.
This week features State Rep. Lynn Ober, R-Hudson, who covers a lot of controversial territory, including her apparent difference of opinion with the State Attorney General's office, which, in December, liquor store was, in fact, just a bookkeeping error.
"Oh, I think it was stolen. It was sitting there, pre-move inventory. They did not check that against in-store inventory," said Ober, in a back-and-forth with Gidge, which segued into a discussion about internal skimming

"You're not saying our liquor commission took it?" Gidge asked, but before he got an answer, Ober reiterated her belief that the wine was never found, or accounted for, hence, stolen.
"It's the invisible miraculously disappearing wine," Ober said.

Later in the program, the talk turns to politicized issues, including abortion. After O'Brien talks about his point of view, Gidge asks Ober where she stands on the issue.
"I feel no man should vote on a woman's medical issue. I think when the women have 50 percent of the votes, or 51 percent, and we can decide if you can get Viagra and Cialis paid for by your health insurance, if you can have a vasectomy paid for by your health insurance, then you have a right to vote what we can have," Ober said.
What follows is a discussion on how issues are politicized, and how to work through that.
In the end, Gidge laments that his fellow Democrats are reluctant to appear on the bi-partisan talk show, perhaps, because they are intimidated by O'Brien.
"I can't get a Democrat to come on. Why?" says Gidge.
That sounds like a challenge!
