A car found submerged in the Merrimack River a few weeks ago was recovered this morning by the Department of Environmental Services. Dave Leathers, with the DES Spill Response and Complaint Division, said it was apparent after the initial investigation that the car had been there for "quite a while." "It's not releasing any fluids it was a pretty stable situation, and given the logistics involved, we had to come up with a plan," Leathers said. We'll update this story if there is more to tell about the mystery of the sunken car.
