Grab a Seat for August Watters at Riverwalk Café

Whether it's new seating or an incredible musical moment, there's always something new at Riverwalk.

Steve Ruddock is always changing it up at his Riverwalk Café & Coffeehouse, adding a menu item, a new coffee brew, or just reconfiguring the furniture.

Last week he added a window sill counter with high-boy seating perfect for people watchers who don't want to hog a table for two. This weekend, he will welcome August Watters, a mandolin virtuoso and accomplished musician, for an eclectic musical mix.

This is exactly the kind of vibe that puts the "coffeehouse" in Riverwalk Cafe & Coffeehouse, a place where the music is unplugged and the atmosphere is intimate and engaged.

Watters has a musical pedigree that lifts him above and beyond the typical starving artist list – he's a Berklee College of Music grad who returned to teach. But what he loves is performing, breaking down musical barriers as he brings his improvisational style to everything from bluegrass and classical to traditional Irish fare.

Show is Saturday night, March 16, at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $10. Find Riverwalk Café on Facebook.
