Ward 8 Special Election: Democracy Begins With Your Vote
It takes less time to vote than it does to brush your teeth.

We checked in at Bicentennial Elementary School this morning, to see how the Special Election voting was going, and found that a little over 100 voters had already made it to the polls.
Not bad, but could be better.
At stake – Democrats Carl Andrade and Latha Mangipudi are vying for a place on the November ballot, where the winner of today's Primary will go head-to-head against Republican Peter Silva to see who will be the new Ward 8 State Rep in Concord.
It may not have the intrigue of "Game of Thrones" but in the world of politics, nothing is more exciting than an Election Day, primary or not.
We made the rounds at about 10 a.m. and found Mangipudi on post with her sign and a small posse of supporters. Andrade had just left for a meeting, but planned to return to wave signs.
Mangipudi said the most important thing for residents, regardless of who they are voting for, is to get out and exercise their right.
"I want everybody to come out and vote because it's important. It's the first thing we can do for democracy," she said.
