Wind-Whipped Nashua Fire Leaves Residents Homeless
A fire broke out in Nashua at a Blossom Street apartment building.

NASHUA, NH -- A Nashua apartment building caught fire Sunday, leaving multiple residents homeless. The fire happened on Blossom Street and fire officials said it appeared to have started in an outdoor trash can and spread to the second floor of the building. No one was hurt.
The fire broke out at about 4 p.m. when the duplex was unoccupied.
"Due to the windy conditions, (the fire) spread rapidly up and inside of the second floor and into the attic of the ... duplex," Nashua Deputy Fire Chief Kevin Kerrigan said in a statement. "Crews stretched several hose lines and were able to knock the heavy fire down ... The building suffered heat, smoke, and water damage and was left uninhabitable."
