Woman Charged in Weekend Stabbing Incident

Melissa Richards faces felony assault charges.

Melissa Richards, 21, of Nashua, was arrested June 8 following a stabbing incident. 

Police responded June 8 at about 10:30 a.m. to investigate a report that a man had been stabbed multiple times in the arm that morning. His injuries were non-life-threatening.

Members of the Nashua Police Department’s Domestic Violence Unit furthered the investigation. As a result of the investigation, Richards was arrested and charged with: domestic violence, first degree assault (four counts), class A felony; domestic violence-simple assault, class A misdemeanor.

A class A felony is punishable by up to 15 years imprisonment, exclusive of fines, for each charge. A class A misdemeanor is punishable by up to a year in jail, exclusive of fines. Richards’ bail is set at $25,000 cash or surety and she was transported to Hillsborough County Department of Corrections pending her arraignment scheduled at the 9th Circuit -District Division-Nashua Court on June 10, 2013.
