Nashua Fire Respond To Fire In Multi-Unit Building
Nashua firefighters responded to a fire in the ceiling of an apartment, the fire spread to the attic and caused water damage to businesses.
NASHUA, NH — On August 22, 2020 at 8:58 am Nashua Fire Rescue received a report of a fire in the ceiling of an apartment in a multi-unit building at Broad St and Amherst St.
Fire crews entered the building and found fire in the ceiling of an apartment on the second floor spreading into the attic. Firefighters extended ladders to the roof to access fire in the attic.
Several people were evacuated from the apartments which are located above businesses on the first floor.

NFR Deputy Chief Gephardt said the fire damage appears to affect two apartments but there is substantial water and smoke damage to other parts of the building.
The Nashua Building Department and Health Department were on scene inspecting the damage. Milano's House of Pizza which is located on the first floor of the building will not be able to immediately reopen due to water damage.

One tenant of the apartment was able to safely remove her pet in a small animal cage. No tenants or firefighters were injured.
The cause and origin of the fire is under investigation by the Nashua Fire Marshals Office.
