PORTSMOUTH, NH — A man from Maine was killed during a head-on crash in Portsmouth after reportedly crossing a median and colliding with a car Wednesday night.

Around 6:30 p.m., New Hampshire State Police were sent to Interstate 95 north, just before the Route 16 north split, for a crash report. After an investigation, state police determined a Ford Escape, being driven by Arlen Brown, 68, of Sabattus, Maine, “crossed the median from the southbound side of I-95 and struck a Toyota Camry heading northbound head-on,” Tyler Dumont, a public information officer for state police.

Brown was taken to Portsmouth Regional Hospital and pronounced dead.
