The 5 Best Hospitals In New Hampshire: New National Ranking

NEW HAMPSHIRE — Five hospitals in the Granite State have been ranked the best in a new report from Newsweek.

Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon was the top-ranked hospital in New Hampshire in Newsweek and data partner Statista’s America’s Best In-State Hospitals 2025 ranking of more than 700 medical centers nationwide.

Other New Hampshire hospitals, listed in ranked order, include:

Wentworth-Douglass Regional in Dover, Portsmouth Regional in Portsmouth, Frisbie Memorial in Rochester, and Exeter Hospital in Exeter.

The 2025 best in-state hospitals list features medical facilities in all 50 states and the District of Columbia. The hospitals were ranked based on quality metrics from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services and national surveys, including:

• The American Hospital Association’s Annual Survey of Hospitals Database, an online nationwide survey among medical professionals;
• Results from Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems patient-experience surveys; and
• Voluntary implementation surveys on PROMs (patient-reported outcome measures).
