7-Year-Old Boy Breaks Up Burglary
The following information comes from the Portsmouth Police log. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

The following is an excerpt from the Portsmouth Police log from Sunday, Sept. 29 to Monday, Sept. 30.
Sunday:
- At 9:01 a.m., police reported a sick raccoon on Cabot and Middle streets.
- At 2:15 p.m., police reported a raccoon was seen dying in the backyard of a Friend Street home before police arrived and dispatched the animal. The Animal Control Officer then disposed of it.
- At 5:35 p.m., police reported a theft of a wallet and a checkbook on the Route One Bypass northbound.
- At 7:56 a.m., police reported a two-car accident on Islington and Summer streets without injury.
- At 11:38 a.m., police reported a second two-car crash on Lafayette Road without injury.
- At 1:24 p.m., police took a male subject into protective custody after he was intoxicated on Freedom Circle. Police transported the man to the Rockingham County Jail in Brentwood.
- At 2:19 p.m., police reported fraud on Woodbury Avenue after the caller said a male subject tried to pass some checks.
- At 3 p.m., police arrested a Portsmouth woman on Congress Street. Megan L. Seymour, 27, of 777 Middle Road, Apt. 67, was wanted as a fugitive from justice.
- At 7:08 p.m., police moved along some homeless people who were trespassing on the railroad tracks on McDonough Street and who were yelling and arguing.
- At 8:07 p.m., police reported a burglary on Hillside Drive after the caller's 7-year-old son saw a man in the kitchen and asked him what he was doing there. The man then fled the scene.
