The African Burying Ground Memorial capital campaign received a big boost to the tune of a $20,000 grant from the National Endowment for the Arts, according to Boston.com. <a href="http://www.boston.com/news/local/new-hampshire/2013/04/23/african-burial-ground-gets-grant/f6NM7lQfaUBtEVQIAqie4L/story.html" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">The Boston website reported</a> the Portsmouth project that will be located on Chestnut Street where city workers found the remains of 200 African slaves in 2003 is now closer to its $1.2 million goal. In January, for the project and hopes to build the new memorial later this year.
