LIT Boutique to file for Chapter 7 bankruptcy, closing all locations (miamiherald.com) — A Boston-based clothing chain that once operated a LIT Boutique store in Portsmouth has filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy and is liquidating, with its last remaining Newbury Street shop expected to close soon. Court filings show the company has only $28,000 in assets against more than $2.5 million in debt, while customers online are still asking what happened to the shuttered Portsmouth, North End, and Rhode Island locations.
   

5. Former New Hampshire gubernatorial candidate faces fraud charges (newenglandnewspress.com) — A Portsmouth resident and former GOP gubernatorial nominee, Jay Lucas, has been indicted in New York on fraud and money laundering charges tied to more than $50 million in investor funds. Prosecutors say he ran a Ponzi-style scheme, diverting money to personal projects, including a newspaper purchase, while investors saw no returns; Lucas has pleaded not guilty.
