Ayotte: Military Action Against North Korea Should Be Last Resort

U.S. Sen. Kelly Ayotte, R-NH, would only favor a preemptive strike against communist country if all efforts to peacefully negotiate a solution fail as military build up escalates.

U.S. Sen. Kelly Ayotte, R-NH, a member of the Senate Armed Services Committee, said many are very concerned about aggressive military build up happening in North Korea, but she would not favor a preemptive strike to stop it.

Ayotte had just completed touring FlexEnergy at Pease International Tradeport when she commented on the mounting crisis. According to Huffington Post, North Korean President Kim Jong-Un continues to threaten a nuclear attack against the U.S. as U.S. military forces step up their defenses in the region.

Meanwhile, the Pentagon announced it was sending a Terminal High Altitude Area Defense system (THAAD), which includes a truck-mounted launcher, interceptor missiles, an AN/TPY-2 tracking radar and an integrated fire control system.
