Bridge Lighting Campaign Gets More Money
Rockingham Electric donates $10,000 to Memorial Bridge Illumination Subcommittee to bring total to $125,000.
The Memorial Bridge Illumination Subcommittee received some positive news when Rockingham Electric donated $10,000 towards its $200,000 capital campaign.
With the latest donation, the subcommittee has reached $125,000 in total pledges and donations.
“Thanks to this generous contribution from Rockingham Electric, we have now reached the $125,000 mark and we’re continuing to collected donations from our supporters. We’re having great success in this fund raising effort and we look forward to reaching our goal and bringing the illumination to fruition,” said Illumination Committee Chair Peter Somssich in a prepared statement.

“Rockingham Electric is proud to support the bridge lighting project and we hope that our contribution challenges other area companies to step up and help make this Seacoast landmark truly brilliant,” said Jim Pender, Rockingham Electric, in a prepared statement.
Harbour Light Strategic Marketing, located in Portsmouth, has also created the illumination logo that is given to bridge illumination supporters.

"The Memorial Bridge is an important link for us, both professionally and personally,” said Ned Savoie, creative director with Harbour Light Strategic Marketing. “When we were asked to help develop a new identity to help raise funds for the lighting of the bridge there was never a question. The new lighting plan will make a local icon even more striking and we're excited to be a part of it."
