Churches Ring Bells to Remember Newtown Shooting Victims
The North Church, South Church and several other houses of worship in the city and across the Seacoast rang their bells at 9:30 a.m.
On Friday at 9:30 a.m., the North Church, South Church and several other churches in downtown Portsmouth and the Seacoast rang their bells 26 times to remember the victims of the Newtown, Conn., shootings that happened on Dec. 15.
The Middle Street Baptist Church, St. John's Episcopal Church and the First United Methodist Church along with churches in Kittery, Maine, and Rye rang their bells for the victims.
On the morning of Friday, Dec. 14, 20 Sandy Hook Elementary School students and six educators were shot and killed by 20-year-old Adam Lanza. ABC News reported the names of all 26 victims that were released by Connecticut State Police:
