Cinema, Live Music and Drama on Tap This Weekend

The 11th annual "Wild and Scenic Film Festival" at the Music Hall Friday; Wooden Eye rocks the Press Room Saturday; "Rounding Third" finishes its run at The Rep this weekend.

As most city residents know, there is never a shortage of fun things to do or places to go in Portsmouth. Each Friday, we will offer five suggestions for people who are planning out their weekends.

1. Film festival at Music Hall: The "Wild and Scenic Film Festival" will be held at the Music Hall on Friday at 7 p.m. and tickets are $10.50 and $9 for seniors and students. According to the Music Hall's website, the theme for the 2013 festival is “A Climate of Change."

2. "Rounding Third" at The Rep: The play, "Rounding Third," which tells the story of two Little League coaches who debate the timeless question of whether they are playing to win or to have fun continues its run at the Seacoast Repertory Theatre this weekend.

3. Funkasaurus at Thirsty Moose: Funkasaurus will perform at the Thirsty Moose Taphouse on Friday from 9 p.m. to 12:30 p.m.

4. Wooden Eye at Press Room: The group Wooden Eye will bring their sound to the Press Room on Saturday night. Doors open at 8 p.m. and the show begins at 9 p.m. Tickets are $5.

5. Fall in "Love": The Player's Ring will have the play, "Love," on Friday at 8 p.m. This collection of monologues, music, plays and visual arts celebrate the greatest of all human emotions.
