City Firm Receives Job Training Grant

Gov. John Lynch today announced that six New Hampshire companies have received Job Training Fund Grants in September, totaling $150,000, which will be used to train 350 workers.

“Our skilled and educated workforce is a critical component of the successful strategy that has made New Hampshire a national economic leader,” Gov. Lynch said. “I believe strongly it is important that we continue to invest in our workers and our companies so that we can continue to strengthen our economy for the future.”

Gov. Lynch made it a priority to reinstate the Job Training Fund in 2007 as part of the state’s successful economic strategy. Since then, the state has issued more than $5 million in grants – with companies contributing over $7.7 million – to help train more than 14,500 New Hampshire workers.

The six companies receiving matching Job Training Fund grants were Pennichuck Water of Merrimack; NH Rapid Machining, of Nashua; CHI Engineering Services in Portsmouth; NH Ball Bearings, Inc., of Peterborough; Interstate Manufacturing Associates in Newport; and APC Paper Company of Claremont.
