• Here's where to see fireworks in New Hampshire this New Year's Eve (seacoastonline.com) — Portsmouth’s First Night celebration returns this New Year’s Eve with free fireworks over South Mill Pond at 7:30 p.m., plus ice sculptures by North Church. The long-running Pro Portsmouth event offers residents a family-friendly way to ring in 2026 close to home, with donations welcomed but not required. 
• Worth lot parking space rentals should end, Portsmouth councilor says (seacoastonline.com) — Downtown Portsmouth’s Worth Lot could see its reserved parking spaces returned to general public use if Councilor Andrew Bagley’s push succeeds, potentially easing a major parking headache. He’s questioning whether renting 28 spaces to private entities for about $75,000 a year is still the best use of city-owned property, especially given frequent towing complaints.
• Portsmouth hit-and-run crashes lead to arrest in Rye (seacoastonline.com) — Two vehicles were hit in a pair of Portsmouth hit-and-run crashes on Lafayette Road Tuesday morning, but no injuries were reported, according to local police. Officers later located the damaged truck in Rye and, after negotiations, removed the driver and brought him to a hospital for evaluation. A Beverly, Massachusetts man now faces multiple felony charges.
