City Man Arrested for Pepper Spraying Woman
The following information comes from the Portsmouth Police log. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

The following is an excerpt from the Portsmouth Police log on Tuesday, Oct. 1 to Wednesday, Oct. 2.
Tuesday:
- At 9:09 a.m., police recovered a three-wheel bicycle with a basket on Sanderling Way.
- At 10:44 a.m., police reported a missing person on Broad Street after a mother said her son did not come home and did not go to school. Police located the boy a short time later and brought him home.
- At 11:46 a.m., police reported identity theft on Rye Street.
- At 12:05 p.m., police arrested a Portsmouth man who was wanted as a fugitive from justice after he was detained by Hampton Police. Charles A. Lunt, 37, of 711 Springbrook Circle was wanted for two counts of simple assault and two counts of second degree assault.
- At 12:58 p.m., police reported forgery on Islington Street.
- At 2:38 p.m., police reported a shoplifter stole a sweater and a pair of jeans from a Congress Street store.
- At 3:03 p.m., police reported a theft at a Woodbury Avenue store after the caller said someone stole her groceries while she was shopping.
- At 3:22 p.m., police reported credit card fraud on Lafayette Road.
- At 4:08 p.m., police reported that a fishing pole valued at $750 was stolen on Little Harbor Road.
- At 4:33 p.m., police reported a theft of s silver ring and six to seven pairs of earrings from a Congress Street store.
- At 5:42 p.m., police reported a two-car accident on Route 33 and Borthwick Avenue.
- At 6:09 p.m., police reported the theft of a bicycle on Woodbury Avenue.
- At 12:31 a.m., police arrested a Portsmouth man following a domestic dispute on Pleasant Street where a woman was pepper sprayed. Joshua Walker Phoenix, 25, of 39 Pleasant St., Apt. 5, was charged with three counts of simple assault, three counts of second degree assault and criminal restraint.
