City Man Charged with Assault After Domestic Dispute Report

Portsmouth Police provided the following information. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

The following is an excerpt from the Portsmouth Police log from Wednesday, Sept. 18.

Wednesday:

  • At 10:19 a.m., police reported a theft of a GPS device on Wibird Street.
  • At 10:44 a.m., police took a 17-year-old juvenile into protective custody for truancy on Doris Avenue.
  • At 10:53 a.m., police reported criminal mischief on Woodbury Avenue and I-95 northbound after the caller said someone spray painted graffiti on the overpass.
  • At 12:16 p.m., police arrested a Portsmouth man following a domestic dispute on Woodbury Avenue. Benjamin Ruel, 24, of 267 Pond Hill Road was charged with criminal mischief (vandalism) and simple assault.
  • At 12:36 p.m., police reported a two-car accident on Rockland Street and Miller Avenue without injury.
  • At 1:26 p.m., police took a report of a theft by deception on Ricci Avenue.
  • At 4:22 p.m., police arrested an Alton man who was wanted as a fugitive from justice on Woodbury Avenue. Michael S. Marcotte, 34, of 104 Stonewall Road was wanted on a bench warrant.
  • At 7:57 p.m., police reported a bicycle theft on Gosling Road.
  • At 8:09 p.m., police arrested a Portsmouth man following a domestic dispute on South Street. Heath J. Blom, 31, of 1247 South St.was charged with simple assault and two counts of criminal mischief.
