Council to Dedicate Plains Park and Playground
Mayor Eric Spear and City Council will hold a public ribbon cutting ceremony following the completion of $490,000 in playground improvements.

Park and playground improvements were recently completed at the Plains Park and Playground at the corner of Islington Street and Greenland Road. Mayor Spear and the Portsmouth City Council are inviting residents to join them on Tuesday, May 21 to officially cut the ribbon and celebrate the improvements. All members of the public are invited.
The park improvements were coordinated closely with residents in the neighborhood and the Portsmouth Little League as well as the City's Community Development, Public Works, and Recreation Departments. Weston & Sampson Engineers designed the improvements and the general contractor for the project was Santorelli Construction.
The playground equipment was manufactured by Landscape Structures. The construction cost for this project was $490,000 and was funded through the City’s Capital Improvement budget.
