Council to Take on EPA Wastewater Treatment Rules

Council to review Peirce Island Wastewater Treatment plant: The City Council will hold a work session about the Peirce Island Wastewater Treatment plant and how it should proceed to meet new federal Environmental Protection Agency standards. The work session begins at 6:30 p.m. at City Hall and the agenda can be viewed on the city's website.

3. USS Thresher victims remembered: In case you missed it, be sure to check out our coverage of the 50th annual USS Thresher memorial service that took place at Portsmouth High School on Saturday to remember the 129 sailors and civilian workers who perished on April 10, 1963.

5. Sarah Mildred Long Bridge closed: According to New Hampshire Department of Transportation officials, the Sarah Mildred Long Bridge will remain closed for another three weeks after it sustained structural damage from a tanker that crashed into it on Monday.
