Daniel Street Project Gets Underway
City Public Works crews to replace gas mains for the next four weeks.

Construction work on Daniel Street began Monday morning at 7 a.m. and Portsmouth area residents and business owners will exist in a construction zone for the next four weeks.
According to David Desfosses, the city Public Works Department project manager, work will begin near the Wright Ave Parking Lot and then proceed toward Market Square. He said parking may be limited within the construction area during this time.
Public works officials say motorists are urged to seek alternative routes to avoid traffic delays in the area and uniformed police officers will direct traffic in the construction zone during work hours.
