Dealership's Test Track Approved

Planning Board give Bournival Jeep's test track facility the green light.

Bournival Jeep customers will soon be able to to test drive their four-wheel drive vehicles at the Lafayette Road dealership on a new test track facility after the dealership received the green light from the city Planning Board.

According to the city Planning Department officials, Bournival Jeep's conditional site plan and site plan were approved by the Planning Board at City Hall on Thursday night, paving the way for the new test track to be build on land the dealership owns in back of the business.

According to city documents, Bournival Jeep President Alissa Bournival wants to build a four-wheel drive course for SUVs on a lot adjacent to their business. Many of the vehicles they sell, including the 2013 Jeep Compass, Jeep Grand Cherokee and the Jeep Wrangler models offer off road driving.

The dealership's owners sell vehicles that have the capability to go off road and customers want to be able to test drive them before they buy.

Bournival Jeep had its request for a variance approved by the Board of Adjustment in February. According to city documents at the Planning Department at City Hall, the plan was also approved by the Conservation Commission on April 10 and was recommended for approval by the city's Technical Advisory Committee on April 19.

Bournival Jeep President Alissa Bournival previously said that adding the off-road test drive area will definitely help her dealership's sales. She said it will also make Bournival Jeep just one of eight dealerships nationwide to have such a facility.
