A former Portsmouth Schools IT worker charged with trying to solicit sex from a 15-year-old girl is due back in court on Tuesday morning for a probable cause hearing in Portsmouth Circuit Court. bail following his arraignment on March 5. Kimber was arraigned on three felony counts of certain uses of a computer prohibited, and five felony counts of indecent exposure. Portsmouth Police arrested Kimber on Feb. 13 after an investigation determined that he was using a Portsmouth School Department computer to try and solicit sex from a teenage girl between Feb. 4 and Feb. 11. The Portsmouth School Department fired Kimber on the same day that he was arrested and school officials assured the community all Portsmouth School students were safe. If a Portsmouth Circuit Court judge finds probable cause, Kimber's case will be forwarded to a Rockingham County Grand Jury for possible indictment.
