PORTSMOUTH, NH — Great Bay Community College offers innovative and flexible associate degree and certificate programs across academic disciplines and short-term professional training programs that spark careers.

Spring courses, starting Jan. 21 and Feb. 18, are available in a range of formats, including in-person on campus, online, and hybrid, as well as a hyflex approach that allows students to self-design their attendance preferences.

Great Bay will host an open house from 4 to 6 p.m. Jan. 9 at its Portsmouth campus. Students can explore course offerings across more than 50 academic programs, including short-term certificates in Medical Assisting, Phlebotomy, and Culinary Art & Sustainable Foodways. There will be campus tours, conversations with faculty, counselors, and students, and information about student activities, athletic programs, and support services.

The Open House is also a great time to learn about financing options for a debt-free college education, as well as transfer opportunities for students who want to either transfer credits from another college or, continue their education beyond Great Bay.

“Attending an Open House is a great way for interested students to learn about credit and non-credit programs, pathways, the admissions process, financial aid and tour the campus,” said Jenna M. Anand, Director of the Center for Academic Planning and Support & Advising and Transfer Center.

A college education has never been more accessible, attainable, or affordable. The Community College System of New Hampshire’s Promise Program helps eligible students with financial need bridge the gap between scholarships and grants and the cost of college tuition and fees.

On Tuesday, Jan. 14, Great Bay will host an Express Admission blitz from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. with on-the-spot admissions, advising, and registration all in one day. Check-in is from 9 a.m. to noon.

This event is for prospective students in any phase of the application process, including those who have not applied or who have been accepted and need placement assessment or are ready for advising and registration.

‘The goal is for you to leave this event registered for Spring classes that begin Jan. 21,” Anand said.

In addition, Granite Edvance will hold a FAFSA Open House during the College’s Express Admissions Day event from 2 to 7 p.m. in the Library Computer Lab. In-person support will be available to help answer questions about the FAFSA form and assist in filling it out.
