Gov. Maggie Hassan is scheduled to visit the city and speak to business leaders about ways the state can continue to promote innovation to revitalize its economy. According to the Greater Portsmouth Chamber of Commerce's website, Hassan is scheduled to be the keynote speaker of the Bank of America Breakfast series on April 16 from 7:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. at the Sheraton Portsmouth Harborside Hotel. Marc Goldberg, who serves as Hassan's press secretary, would not comment on what Hassan will specifically discuss during her visit. But Hassan has spent a great deal of time promoting the importance of a balanced budget and bringing more innovation to New Hampshire companies to revitalize the economy. Hassan has also stated her support for expanded casino gambling in the state in recent weeks.
