Holiday Concerts, Film and More this Weekend
Con Tutti to perform "Send Them Angels Down" at South Church; Dan Blakeslee Christmas Show at Press Room; Vintage Christmas continues.
As most city residents know, there is never a shortage of fun things to do or places to go in Portsmouth. Each Friday, we will offer five suggestions for people who are planning out their weekends.
1. Send Them Angels Down: If you are in the mood for some uplifting holiday music, then you won't want to miss the Con Tutti concert, "Send Them Angels Down," at the South Church on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. Tickets cost $10 in advance and $12 at the door and they can be purchased at Paradiza gifts on Penhallow Street.
2. See "Chasing Ice": This Friday and Saturday, the film, "Chasing Ice," will be shown at the Music Hall at 7 p.m. Acclaimed National Geographic photographer James Balog deploys revolutionary time-lapse cameras to capture a multi-year record of the world’s changing glaciers. Tickets are $9 for adults and $7 for seniors and students.

3. Vintage Christmas: This weekend, Portsmouth's Vintage Christmas begins in earnest with several events including Strawbery Banke's Candlelight Stroll, seasonal Christmas trolleys downtown, Victorian-era Carolers and other events.
4. Watch Portsmouth Holiday Parade: If you missed the city's annual Holiday Parade on Saturday, Dec. 1, watch it march through downtown on Channel 22 on Saturday at 7 p.m.

5. Dan Blakeslee Christmas Show: The Dan Blakeslee Christmas Show will return to the Press Room on Saturday at 9 p.m. There is a $5 cover charge.
