How Will Government Shutdown Hit Pease?
WMUR reports that New Hampshire National Guard officials are hoping to retain half of the 450 affected technicians to maintain their mission at Pease.
Hundreds of New Hampshire Air National Guard military technicians and civilian workers could learn today if they will be furloughed after Congress failed to avert a federal government shutdown, according to WMUR.
The news television station reported that as many as 450 military technicians and civilian workers could be affected. Lt. Col. Greg Heilshorn, a New Hampshire National Guard spokesman, told WMUR Guard officials are seeking an exemption to retain half of those affected technicians so they can carry out their mission.
Gov. Maggie Hassan, U.S. Sens. Jeanne Shaheen, D-NH, and Kelly Ayotte, R-NH, and U.S. Reps. Carol Shea Porter, D-NH, and Ann Kuster, D-NH, also issued statements condemning the federal government shutdown and expressing concern for New Hampshire families.
