Islington Street Bridge Demolition Planned
The $4.3 million Islington Street bridge project is scheduled to be completed by September 2015.
The night work for demolition of the Islington Street bridge over Route 1 will begin Sunday, according to New Hampshire Department of Transportation.
The bridge demolition work will occur between the hours of 7 p.m. and 5 a.m. on May 18 and May 19.
It will require temporary traffic pattern changes on the Route 1 Bypass.

Additional night work will be scheduled, as needed, to remove the remainder of the bridge.
DOT warns that motorists traveling through the work zone during these times should expect two-way traffic shifted to one side of the bypass between the Greenleaf Avenue and Borthwick Avenue intersections.

ED Swett, Inc., of Concord, is the prime contractor for the $4.3 million project. It is scheduled to be completed in September 2015.
