Jazz Duo Busks on Market Square

On the surface, Scott Harris and his friend, Ed, looked two like two professional Jazz musicians in their suits as they played in front of the North Church on Thursday afternoon. But looks can be deceiving.

According to Harris, the two Newmarket residents played together for the first time and decided to combine their desire to jam on the bass and trumpet with some busking to get some cash.

"We are pretty much here to play and jam and do some busking and if they like it and we like it, we'll come back," said Harris.

Harris said he is also a relative newcomer to the big bass after playing the electric bass for many years. He decided to buy his new bass a few months ago. Neither he or Ed play in any area venues. They just love to play Jazz and on Thursday they treated Portsmouth area residents and visits to music.
