Kids Have a Ball on Children's Day
Thousands of parents and kids enjoyed a Sunday afternoon filled with live music, games, food and fun courtesy of Pro Portsmouth.
Downtown Portsmouth was the place to be on Sunday afternoon for kids of all ages on the 22nd annual Children's Day.
The Pro Portsmouth event was blessed with a spectacular sunny spring day that complemented four hours of live music, games, food and face time with characters such as Elmo, Winnie the Pooh, Tigger, Nemo and many others.
Everywhere kids and their parents went, downtown businesses were waiting to offer them free treats and gift items and fun activities that included cookie decorating at Me and Ollie's, free popcorn from Kilwin's, an Extreme Air jump roping demonstration, free cruises up and down the Piscataqua River aboard the M/V Thomas Laighton and a block party on Pleasant Street. There were also plenty of pirates about at Tugboat Alley on Bow Street and at the Moffatt-Ladd House on Market Street.
