Lady Clippers Lose State Division II Title Game

Portsmouth High girls basketball team loses to Lebanon High, 48-41, Friday night.

The Portsmouth High Lady Clippers were hoping to make history by winning their first ever Division II state title on Friday night, but their quest for a basketball championship came to an end at the hands of the Lebanon High Raiders, who came out on top, 48-41.

According to the New Hampshire Interscholastic Athletic Association website, number one ranked Lebanon High bested the number two ranked Lady Clippers at Southern New Hampshire University.

According to the NHIAA game notes, the Raiders were paced by Emily Kehoe who led her team with 20 points and five rebounds. Her teammate, Heather King, grabbed 12 rebounds and scored nine points.

The Lady Clippers were led by Alicia Brown, who scored 10 points and pulled down 16 rebounds. Devon Parker added 10 rebounds and four points for the Lady Clippers.

The Portsmouth High Clippers Boys Basketball team's quest for a second state Division II title is still alive. They will play Souhegan High School in the semifinals of their tournament on Wednesday, March 13 at the University of New Hampshire in Durham at 6 p.m.
