Look Who's Coming to Prescott Park This Summer

1. Today's weather: Today will be mostly cloudy with a high temperature near 73 degrees. On Friday night, it will be cloudy with some showers and a low temperature around 53 degrees.

2. Hit the Decks Thursday: The Greater Portsmouth Chamber of Commerce will hold its annual Hit the Decks 2013 event in conjunction with several Portsmouth restaurants Thursday all day long, rain or shine.

3. Mother/Son Mother's Day Dance this Saturday: The Connie Bean Center will host the 17th annual Mother's Day Mother/Son Dance on Saturday, May 11 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Boys in grades K-5 can bring their moms, aunts or grandmothers. There will be a Hawaiian theme and everyone will receive a lei. Contact the Portsmouth Recreation Department for more details.

4. Sandy the Dog auditions Saturday: The Prescott Park Arts Festival will hold auditions for all Portsmouth area dogs who want to play the part of Sandy in this summer's community theatre production of "Annie." The auditions will be held on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. at Strawbery Banke Museum and all dogs and their owners are welcome regardless if the audition or not.

5. PPAF releases concert lineup: The Prescott Park Arts Festival released its lineup for the 2013 River House Concert Series this week and Richard Thompson will open the series on June 30.
