Man Charged with Assaulting Friend Who Stole Lighter
The following information was provided by the Portsmouth Police log. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.
Feb. 1
- 9:57 a.m.: James E. Wihriala, 37, of 25 Beech St., Newmarket was charged with two counts of assault. He reportedly assaulted his friend when he thought his friend stole his lighter.
- 1:34 p.m.: Matthew D. Smith, 40, of 108 Porpoise Way, Apt. #3, Portsmouth was charged with suspended registration and driving after revocation or suspension.
- 2:04 p.m.: A caller reported her purse was taken on Parrott Avenue.
- 6:28 p.m.: A male suspect stole a bottle of Patron tequila from the state liquor store at the rotary.
- 9:20 p.m.: Patrick S. Johnson, 43, of 21 Brewster St., Apt. #14, Portsmouth was arrested on a warrant and charged with two counts of criminal threatening and one count of reckless conduct.
- 9:51 p.m.: A motor vehicle accident was reported on Grafton Drive.
- 11:33 p.m.: Travis James Tulo, 28, of 46 Emerson Road, Durham was charged with two counts of second degree assault, one count of criminal threatening and one count of simple assault.
